Product description

Technical wire cloths are two dimensional meshes in which one or more layers of metal or synthetic filaments cross each other in the optimal angle.

Application: filtering, sorting, delivering, protection, reinforcing, supporting.

MESH TYPES:

We provide technical wire cloths with different patterns, from the quadratic to rectangular to the so called „null” mesh. Every type is available.

QUADRATIC MESH

The distance between the longitudinal and the cross filaments is the same.

RECTANGULAR MESH

The distance between the longitudinal filaments is smaller than between the cross filaments.

NULL MESH

Longitudinal filaments are at a given distance from each other, while the cross filaments have no distance between each other. This pattern can be woven in a reversed pattern as well.

MESH FEATURES:

  • APERTURE

The aperture („W” in case of quadratic or „W1” / „W2” in case of the rectangular pattern) shows the inner distance between two longitudinal or cross filaments. The aperture is given in either mm or micrometer.

  • WIRE DIAMETER

The wire diameter („d” or „d1”/”d2”) is given in mm.

  • DIVISION

The division („t” or „t1”/”t2”) is the distance which is measured between the midlines of two longitudinal or cross filaments (t=w+d).

  • FREE SURFACE

The free surface („F0”) is in percentage compared to the entire surface. This is calculated with the following formula: F0=w2/t2 x 100 or w2/(w+d)2 x 100 in percentage.

  • “MESH” NUMBER

The mesh number defines that how many filaments are in one inch (25.4 mm) to any direction. For an accurate cloth defining, the diameter of the filament is required.

Weaving types:

SIMPLE LINEN WEAVING

This is the most common weaving type. Every second filament is crossed. Due to the continuous repetitions, the longitudinal and cross filaments cover each other once from above once from below.

TWILL WEAVING

Every two filaments are crossed twice with one filament. This type is applied in case a thicker filament is required for a smaller aperture and if the cloth is so fine that the cross filament may break under the huge tension.

FISHBONE WEAVING

This type was invented to even the diagonal displacement of the twill weaving. This type is mostly used for supporting purposes due to its unevenness. Rarely it is used for filtering and sorting as well.

FIVE-BEAM WEAVING

This is a special weaving type that can only be used for specific purposes. In this weaving type every fifth filament is crossed. Specialty of this weaving is that one side of the cloth is flat.

EDGING WEAVING

Cross filaments lean diagonally so the cloth is non-transparent from a perpendicular angle. The longitudinal filaments are thicker and farther from each other. This type is particularly sturdy which is primarily used as a filter because of its good permeability.

TWILL-EDGING WEAVING

This type contains even more filaments in a given size of surface. Usually this weaving results in a finer, less permeable structure than the edging weaving where a weft is above and a warp below. This type has twice as much wefts, thus making it more sturdy than the edging weaving.

REVERSE EDGING WEAVING

In this type the warps cross each other more times than the wefts do, so reversing the process, we can make a simple twill-edging weaving. It is very sturdy and it has high filtering capabilities.

WIDE TWILL-EDGING WEAVING

This type is similar to the twill-edging weaving, but the wefts are not so close to each other, there is a given distance between them. It has a perfect permeability, but due to the higher distance between the wefts, the filtering accuracy is worse compared to the twill-edging weaving. Rarely used type.
